From Bill Freese:

Hello Rockhounds,

We are in the busy time of year since our weather is so nice.  This Mid-Dec trip is one of club favorites.  We are going to Burro Creek Crossing on Wednesday, Dec.20th for chert.  Check with some of our resident experts on the difference between chert, agate and jasper.  (or look at the pics instead)  We do this trip every season, so check the FB page for pics from previous trips.

We will meet at the turn-off to Burro Creek Crossing Road off US-93, north of MM 133.  (coordinates = 34.609646, -113.524298)  We will meet at 10:00 AM and leave for the 12 mile trip down Burro Creek Crossing Road as soon as everyone arrives but no later than 10:10 AM.  You will need to sign up and include your cellular number.  You can reply to this message or email me directly.  We will be just 13 miles south of Wikieup , AZ where you can get gas or go to the restroom before or after the trip.  Just make sure if you stop before that you are back to the meeting spot before 10 AM.  I have attached a map from Anthem with directions.

There is plenty of material out there and everyone gets their fill.  The weather is usually very nice this time of year.  Bring your usual stuff, snacks, drinks, hat, gloves, etc.  The road is good and we will be parking next to the road, so 4x4 is not needed but you will want some clearance to cross washes and stuff.  I recommend a vehicle with some clearance.  Small SUV's like a RAV4 would be enough.  You can stay as long as you want but I will probably leave by 2 PM or so.

BE SURE AND CONTACT BILL IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING.
