The MSA November 17th program will be presented by Young Mineral Collector Extraordinaire, Mr. Kyle Kevorkian, "Bigger Isn’t Always Better: What I Have Learned Building my Collection.”  In this talk, young mineral collector Kyle Kevorkian will be providing insight into his collecting philosophy and the story of his collection’s development. There will be a particular focus on important lessons learned, how to identify high quality specimens, and how to think about creating a cohesive collection. Kyle will share images of some of his favorite specimens, detailing the criteria he uses to evaluate them for his collection both individually as well as in the broader context of the collection. The talk will thus be directed not only towards novice collectors, but also to veterans who are interested in obtaining another collector’s perspectives on identifying high-quality specimens.

Kyle Kevorkian is a young mineral collector who was born in Los Angeles, California but now resides in Austin, Texas. Kyle has been collecting minerals for the past six years, collecting only thumbnail-sized specimens for the first few years and later expanding into the miniature size range. Since joining the hobby, Kyle has been an active member of the mineral-collecting community; Kyle has helped form the Young Mineral Collectors group, put up many guest exhibits at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, and been featured in several magazine articles and podcasts. Outside of minerals, Kyle is engaged in his work as a financial advisor with 49 Financial.

Mark the date on your calendars as Mineralogical Society of Arizona is honored to host KYLE KEVORKIAN for his debut  program crafted especially for MSA!

Thank you, KYLE for sharing your passion for fine and esthetic minerals with MSA!

MEETING will be ZOOM ONLY.
