We have been invited on a field trip by the Daisy Mountain Rock and Mineral Club.  Their Field Trip Leader, Bill Freese, invited members of the MSA to join.  Here is his announcement:
Hi All,

The trip to Mingus Mountain for Jasper with Hematite is scheduled for Wednesday September 7th.  We will meet at the rest area at the top of Mingus Mountain at 9 AM.  I have attached a map if you have never been there before.  Basically you head to Prescott Valley, then follow the signs for AZ89-A toward Jerome. As you head up the mountain there is a rest area at the crest before you head toward Jerome. (I included a satellite pic of the area)  The road back to the collecting area can be rough in spots, so I prefer high clearance vehicles, but for anyone without an SUV or pickup, you could leave your vehicle at one of the camping spots close to the main road.  We will go about 7.5 miles back on the dirt roads to the site.

We will be joining our friends from the MSA Club.  Make sure you let me know that you want to go and who is going with you. (plus phone number)  We already have people signing up before this email went out.  We will be at about 7000 ft elevation, so it should be beautiful weather.  There is plenty of material to collect for all.
